Speakers confirmed for Evolution 2

DISTRIBUTOR VIP Computers has revealed the speaker line-up for this year’s Evolution 2 trade gaming expo. The free event – taking place at the Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester on September 13th – lets retailers speak directly with vendors and sample the latest gaming tech. Carl West from GfK will host a
keynote speech on ‘Gaming & PC Market Opportunities for Resellers’, while James Binns from
PCGamesN.com will be talking about the growing esports market. There will also be an exclusive
presentation on forthcoming Windows 8.1, as well as topical breakout sessions from big-name exhibitors. Microsoft has been confirmed as the
event’s main partner for the second consecutive year. Vendors confirmed so far include ASUS, AMD, AOC, ASRock, Creative, Dust Off, EVGA, Genius, Gigabyte, Intel, MSI, NVIDIA,

Wikipad game tablet hits UK this month
DISTRIBUTOR MSE Group will launch the Wikipad gaming tablet in the UK and Ireland this month, which aims to fill a “huge hole” in the mobile gaming space. Having hit the US earlier this
year, the tablet will now go on sale in the UK on September 24th. Fraser Townley, president of sales at Wikipad, told PCR: “Half of tablet usage is gaming and we believe the Wikipad does this better than any other tablet. The exclusive and patented removable controller, upgradeable storage and our focus on gaming makes the Wikipad different from other tablets.” “We believe we have carved an

The Wikipad is specifically designed
for mobile gaming, featuring an Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor with a quad core CPU.
