CYCLE SHOW 2013 PREVIEW alongside a revised test track with a

longer incline feature than in previous years, will be made up of over 20 brands dedicated to the market. Furthermore, around 100 electric bikes are expected to grace the test track, enabling consumers to get to grips with a plethora of designs, from Bosch drives, through NuVinci N360 equipped builds. Also marked by a change in the colour of

the carpet, will be ‘The Trade Zone’, where you’ll find representatives from the ACT, on hand to discuss anything from apprenticeship schemes to retail vouchers. There will also be numerous suppliers of electronic point of sale equipment for your business, including the likes of Citrus Lime, Evopos and Cybertil. If you’re reading someone else’s copy of this magazine, the Trade Zone is also where you’ll find BikeBiz on the opening Thursday, so come along and ask us to add you to our subscriptions list if you want access to a free-of-charge monthly trade-only cycling title.

If BMX is your forte, or if you’re looking to

dip a toe into the 20-inch market, Cycle Show has once again laid on a massive BMX arena, which will play host to the annual Shop Battle. To enter a shop rider into this event, all you have to do is have the athlete film and submit a short edit on Red Bull’s Flow app, which downloadable online. 14 shops are set to compete thus far, but the competition is open to all explains Holman. “The shops are all really behind the BMX

Battle, it’s an excuse for them to get together under one roof and have a bit of fun, as well as see the specialist distributors who are exhibiting alongside the course again this year. The winners on the course will scoop a £1,000 prize, as well as a JVC Adixxion helmet camera and a year’s worth of advertising in Ride UK, so it’s well worth entering. Those who do participate can also get hold of a Red Bull fridge.” The 2013 instalment will also see the debut

of an incredibly large inflatable, dubbed The Airbag. For the uninitiated, this is an enormous cushion that consumers will be able to jump a DMR bike onto, making it safer to try daunting tricks. Exhibitors are invited once again to the after

show party on the trade day, which will be held alongside Cyclist magazine, themselves celebrating their one-year anniversary. The party begins at 6pm. To register for a free of charge pass to the

opening trade day, visit cycleshow.co.uk/bb. Proof of identity and trade credentials may be required on the door.
