New World Wellness is offering “Thai Yoga Weekend Workshop.” This session will benefi t those that are: LMTs
in need of Continuing Education for license renewal, Yoga Instructors in need of Continuing Education hours, or anyone who would like to learn more about Thai Yoga Massage for home use. This is a bodywork technique that incorporates compressions and stretching; some like to call it passive yoga. Thai Yoga Massage works with energy lines in the body called sen lines which can become congested and cause
restriction.The bodywork is applied with a fl uid-like movement to replicate the waves of the ocean. The client’s breath is encouraged to move with the therapists pace: long, slow and steady. Thai Yoga Massage is performed with clients dressed in comfortable clothing, free to move on a mat set up on the fl oor. Thai Yoga Massage is a benefi cial treatment for anyone suffering from extreme tension due to chronic behaviors that are repeated often throughout the day: sitting at a desk, working on a computer for several hours at a time as well as training for a marathon or a triathlon without making time to lengthen the muscles. This treatment will help anyone that experiences stress and anxiety and helps soothe the central nervous system. Thai Yoga Massage can also transfer to yoga students or private yoga clients by helping deepen a pose or achieve a stretch they cannot do unassisted. Offered at the end of August, this workshop is a 12-hour program with CEUs available for both Yoga Teachers and Licensed Massage Therapists.
