What is it about them that you
enjoy working with? The reason why so many people wear them across sport is that they are so good for what we do, and they’ve been doing it for a long time as well. They are functional for both performance and lifestyle, so not only do they give great protection, they look great as well. It’s one thing them looking good, but for players, we need them to be practical and functional as well, and they’re definitely that.
In terms of the future, are you, or the England side for that matter, the type to set yourself targets? Yes, we do. As a team we set ourselves targets regularly, in terms of any individual targets that I set myself, I want to get to 10,000 Test runs.
How long do you think you can go on playing, Michael Vaughan says your best years are ahead of you, is
that true?
I can only hope so. It goes back to what we were talking about earlier and managing your body and fitness properly. If I do that then I hope I can be playing for a good few years yet, and maybe those 10,000 runs will come with it.
And have you ever thought what you’ll do after you finish playing? Honestly, I have absolutely no idea!
Did you enjoy seeing Jessica singing with Liberty X again, you might have to join them when you finish? Hahaha, well we can definitely rule that out! Yeah it was great to see the band back together and she really enjoyed doing the tour which is the main thing.
