Waterproofing replacement work to a multi-storey car park in Walsall’s St Matthew’s Quarter has been completed using Stirling Lloyd’s Decseal waterproofing and anti-skid system.
Some 5,500m² of the methyl methacrylate resin-based Decseal system has been applied by Stirling Lloyd Construction to the top deck of the 1,000-space car park, which is part of a major leisure and retail-led
regeneration scheme in Walsall town centre. Failure of the car park’s existing waterproof coating led to the need for the repair work. The project’s main contractor, Vinci Construction, specified Decseal based on its experience using the system at several previous UK car park projects.

Debt collection and enforcement company JBW is expanding, and the most recent addition to the team is Stewart Kiddell, who is taking over as contracts manager. Kiddell previously worked as recovery officer at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. He said: ‘I am very pleased to have joined the JBW team.

Its specification on the Walsall car park was part of a much wider £90m regeneration scheme to improve leisure and retail facilities in the town’s St Matthew’s Quarter.

PARKING TEAM IS MUTCH STRONGER
Birmingham-based Gallan Parking has strengthened its nationwide on-site management team by promoting Ross Mutch to car park supervisor.
Mutch, who joined the company a year ago as a car park attendant, will be responsible for maintaining more than 2,500 spaces at 22

Gallan-run car parks throughout the UK. He will ensure that all Gallan sites continue to meet the stringent standards of the Safer Parking Scheme and help the company add to the four Park Marks for safety and security that it has been awarded since its launch in 2009.
JBW SUCCESS
In other news from JBW, the company is celebrating securing a two-year contract to supply debt recovery, enforcement and ANPR services to Medway Council. Rubena Hafizi, Medway Council’s parking
manager, said: ‘We are pleased to be working with JBW again and particularly its AR12 debtor-centric recovery solution – a key factor in increasing our debt-recovery rate.’
