Right on course

This year’s ECA National Golf Day tournament was held at the prestigious Stoke-by-Nayland Golf and Country Club in Suff olk on 9 May. The club is a regular venue for the Senior PGA Tour, Europro

and European Challenge Tour and other tournaments. Nine teams, with a total of 56 players from across the country, competed for the President’s Cup and other trophies. Each team was backed by an electrical industry sponsor, including major names such as MK Electric, Redring Xpelair, Newey & Eyre and Edmundson Electrical. Those taking part, including the incoming ECA president, Phil

Fagg, who played for the South East region team, had to battle high winds, which made the already challenging championship course even more diffi cult to play. East region chairman Godfrey Batson presented trophies and

prizes at the post-tournament dinner, which was also attended by ECA chief executive Steve Bratt. The annual tournament began back in 2001 as part of the ECA’s

centenary celebrations, organised ‘by the regions, for the regions’. Since then, the event has become one of the largest ECA member- gatherings in the calendar. Winners and runners up were as follows:
