MCTV on April 5 to coincide with CastExpo’13— the industry’s largest gather- ing of metalcasters in North America. MCTV is a portal website featuring short videos produced specifi cally for the metalcasting industry. A product of MODERN CASTING and Metal Casting Design & Purchasing magazines, MCTV applies the edito- rial philosophy of the print publications into the digital medium. Videos include newscasts, metalcaster profi les, technology updates and instructional clips, and cover metalcasting processes and alloys, melting, EHS and safety, management and quality. “More than 38 billion online content videos were
watched in December 2012 worldwide,” said Alfred Spa- da, publisher of MODERN CASTING and Metal Casting Design & Purchasing. “We knew online video specific to our industry was an important medium to reach our audience. Our goal is provide quality video content that falls into step with the highly regarded content in our print publications.” MCTV is available at

2013 Metalcasting Wage Survey Available
The American Foundry Society’s (AFS) 2013 Survey
of Wages and Economic Benefits report is now available for purchase via download or print copy. The report details current wages and benefits of the
metalcasting industry in the U.S. and Canada. Results are organized by facility size, union status and type of metal poured (steel, iron, nonferrous or a combination). The 2013 survey includes data from 119 U.S. metalcast- ing facilities representing 15,390 employees and seven Canadian metalcasting facilities representing 613 em- ployees. The wage portion of the survey is based on 28 job classifications. All information included in the report is unique to metalcasting operations. “T e annual survey of wages provides a way for metal-
