Corp., Schaumburg, Ill., has an- nounced the sale of an XL 2430 molding machine to Skeppshult Gjuteri AB, a cast iron cookware producer in Skeppshult, Sweden.


Clinkenbeard, Rockford, Ill., has


added a new five-axis CNC machine. Clinkenbeard provides rapid produc- tion of complex castings and ma- chined parts using a wide variety of metals and plastics.


A fire recently caused reportedly


$2.5 million in damage to the Holland Alloys metalcasting facility in Holland Township, Mich. Rohatgi Receives


Award From MRS Te Materials Research Society


(MRS), Warrendale, Pa., has awarded Fellowship to Dr. Pradeep Rohatgi, distinguished professor of materials engineering for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) and director of the centers for composites and advanced materials manufacture. Te award is in recognition of his sustained leadership in research on solidification synthesis and character- ization of metal matrix composites. He is a fellow of numerous industry organizations across the globe. His most recent awards include: ASME Innovative Research Award in Tri- bology (2010), American Foundry Society and Foundry Education Foundation Distinguished Professor Award (2010), and the Engineers and Scientists of Milwaukee Engineer of the Year Award (2011).

CASTING reported a check was donated to FEF. It was donated to FEF Canada. On page 33 of that issue, a statement about the largest X-ray unit in Iowa is in- correct. Keokuk Steel Castings, Keokuk, Iowa, has a larger, 6 MEV unit.
