Congratulations

The TSCRF proudly awarded six $5,000 scholarships to students nearing completion of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M’s College of Veterinary Medicine and planning careers in a large animal practice. These scholarships are made possible by private donations, proceeds from the Trail Rides and support of the TSCRA.

Justin Box Justin received a BA of Science from Texas A&M. After graduation next May, he plans to move to rural Texas and practice food animal medicine. He would like to work for a practice that has a heavy beef cattle case load whether that is a feedlot or a private practice with mostly cow/calf or stocker operations.

Following graduation he plans to practice large animal medicine while also creating a veterinary business consulting firm aimed at large animal practices. He would like to help large animal practitioners create more efficient practices that will lead to even better medicine and encourage

more young veterinarians to pursue their love of large animal medicine. He also plans to continue to be involved in the public policy sector with a goal of educating lawmakers and the public about animal agriculture.
