FDA to Hold June Meeting on Medicated Feed

HE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRA- tion (FDA) has planned 5 meetings to provide an op-
portunity for public dialogue and feedback on challenges faced by the animal agriculture industry and practicing veterinarians as FDA implements its initiative for the ju- dicious use of medically important antimicrobials in medicated feed or drinking water of food-producing animals. Particular emphasis will be
placed on challenges faced by ani- mal producers in areas that may lack access to adequate veterinary services. The meetings are jointly sponsored by FDA and the U.S. De- partment of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). The Texas meeting is June 4,
2013, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Texas A&M University, Joe Routt Boulevard and Houston Street, Col- lege Station, TX 77840. Registration is not required for
these meetings; however, early arrival is recommended because seating may be limited. Regardless of attendance at the public meet- ings, interested persons may submit either electronic or written com- ments regarding the topics to be discussed at these meetings.
