TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION

onnections without dead zones where residue can accumulate are important for circuits with sensitive substances or requirements for high flexibility due to frequently changing media.

Within the Inoxline, Eisele offers

Megaman Launch 15W Dimming AR111

the range to include a dimming 15W AR111 version. The dimming 15W AR111 provides a direct replacement for 75W halogen spots, in terms of both colour temperature and intensity, without heat generation. Using a large reflector and miniaturized burner, the AR111 provides excellent performance with its narrow beam optic and exceptional optical control. The G53 dimming version offers three beam angles of 8, 24, and 45, degrees whilst the new GU10 dimming lamp is available in 24 and 45 degree angles.

F Both lamps offer dimming from

100% to 10% and have a 50,000 hour life. The AR111 lamps are suitable for a wide range of applications, which include retail outlets, reception areas,

art galleries, museums and domestic installations.

ollowing the success of Megaman’s 15W AR111 LED reflector lamp, the company has extended

Freeline connections with no dead zones or gaps, which makes them especially fast and easy to clean from the inside. This design allows reliable flushing of the lines before changing media.

Dead zone-free and low dead zone connections from Eisele for media circuits enter 832

It is not necessary to disassemble systems for cleaning, since there are no joints where residue can accumulate. This even makes it possible to create sterile environments. The use of hose connections is especially beneficial in circuits with many moving parts, since the hoses are much more flexible than pipes. Before connecting, the hose is adapted so that it ensures a reliable connection. A seal is not needed for this series, thus eliminating one point of attack for aggressive substances. Also, seals in the quality required for the applications where Freeline connections are used represent a significant cost factor. The dead zone-free seal implemented in Eisele’s Freeline 3600 series is patented. The 3800 series low dead zone connections enable even faster mounting. For these connections, adaptation of the hose is not necessary. The low-gap connections provide a high-quality solution for applications that do not have to fulfil the most stringent requirements. Both product series, the dead zone-free 3600 and the low dead zone 3800, are designed for use with media. As opposed to pneumatic connections, they are designed for different substances, such as foods, medications or paints and lacquers. The material used for these connections is stainless steel 1.4404, which is chlorine resistant. While product purity is decisive for paints and lacquers, hygienic aspects are central in the case of foods and pharmaceuticals. In all cases, easy and extremely thorough cleaning of the media circuit is necessary, to enable fast changing of media. Residue must be absolutely eliminated. Outer diameters of up to 22 mm also allow the flow of liquid foods at the corresponding pressure.

luke, the global leader in portable electronic test and measurement technology, is offering an Energy Seminar at a range of locations across the UK between May and November. The seminar offers guidance to electricians, electrical engineers and industrial maintenance technicians by focusing on quantifying energy consumption and identifying energy waste in industrial and commercial enterprises. Measurement data supports the decisions and actions that can be taken to reduce energy consumption and cost. All seminar dates and locations can be found at http://www.flukeacademy.shuttlepod.org/UK-Seminars, with instructions on how to register. The seminars will run from 8.30am to 4pm at a cost of £25 (refreshments and lunch included) in a number of locations across the country.

Latest high-precision load cells feature IP69K degree of protection

Participants will be shown how, with the right tools, measurement data can support decisions and actions such as upgrading equipment, supply/demand right-sizing and optimisation, introducing controls and automation, applications for utility incentives, and repairs.

ew from CP Electronics is Rapid – An-10 Gateway, a clever device that supplies a link between the company’s Rapid lighting control system and its An-10 wireless system. The unit comprises of a radio transceiver for two way communication between an An-10 system and a CAN port, for communication link with the Rapid system. The Rapid – An-10 Gateway can easily be configured using CP’s compact infrared handset (UNLCDHS) with the settings simply uploaded to a PC programme via an Excel spreadsheet. CP’s Rapid lighting control system is bus-based and specifically designed to offer flexibility through its modular nature. Specifiers can choose from a wide selection of components to tailor a system that exactly suits the requirements of each project. An-10 is a wireless lighting control

BM has launched a high-precision version of its HLCB2 load cells for the construction of scales with a C6 accuracy class conforming to OIML regulations. The load cells are available with maximum capacities ranging from 220 kg to 4.4 tonnes and are characterized by hermetic encapsulation in addition to their very high precision. They are available with either IP68 or IP69K degree of protection facilitating their use in applications operating in dusty or damp ambient conditions. The design has been optimised so that any force applied is implemented consistently so that measurement errors are avoided. In addition different loading feet can be fitted to ensure optimal placement in an application. Typical applications for the HLCB2 load cells are in the food or pharmaceutical sectors, for instance in silo or container scales. These areas require both very high accuracy and, for hygienic reasons, the ability to withstand daily cleaning with high- pressure steam cleaners.
