he new Plugtrab PT-IQ product family from Phoenix Contact is the first generation to provide proactive functional monitoring for signal interface surge protection devices. A yellow status signal indicates that the performance limit has been reached as a result of frequent surge voltages, while a small reserve capacity ensures that protection remains effective. The user is informed and can replace the protective connector before the protective function fails due to component overload. Failure is indicated by a red signal. Thanks to the remote signaling feature, users can inspect the system from any location and at any time. The controller assumes the management of a rail equipped with protective devices. It acts both as a power supply and an evaluation unit for all status signals. The system is freely scalable. The only requirement is that an additional controller is added for each 28 surge devices to enhance performance of the power supply.

he new electronic and thermo-magnetic circuit breakers from Phoenix Contact offer all of the system benefits that are important for quick and easy installation. They reliably protect devices from surges and short circuits, even when long cables are used. The one-channel, pluggable circuit breakers enable modular designs for selective power distribution. Coding between the base element and the plug ensure error- free placing. Likewise, the new connector catch mechanism holds the circuit breakers securely in place even in harsh installation environments. Furthermore, the push-in connection terminals make it possible to connect wires without any tools, while the unique bridge system means all circuit breakers can be readily combined according to your individual needs.

BB’s central inverter series, PVS800, is now available in 875 kilowatt and 1,000 kilowatt (kW)
versions. The central inverters reduce overall system cost and have even higher total efficiency with a compact and easy-to-maintain design. The operating temperature and altitude rating are extended and the modular direct current (DC) input design provides greater flexibility for system integrators. The PVS800 has a 98.8 percent maximum efficiency.
This figure is improved at partial loads to provide a Euro efficiency rating of 98.6 percent. The new inverters have a very low auxiliary power consumption of only 700 watts at nominal power, which further contributes to a high total efficiency. With a 45 percent higher power density, compared to earlier versions, the PVS800 is one of the most compact inverters on the market by footprint and volume per kW.
