Products Editor’s Choice The HART of testing technology
It has an accuracy at 0.01% of reading, and is well suited for process technicians who need a precise loop calibrator and powerful HART communicator in one compact, rugged, reliable tool. The Fluke 709H supports a select set of HART universal and common practice commands. In the communicator mode, technicians can read basic device infor- mation, perform diagnostic tests and trim the calibration on most HART enabled transmitters. The 709H also features a built-in, selectable 250 ohm resistor to tune the loop for HART communications. The interface of the 709H and non-
HART 709 models features dedicated buttons, a Quick-Set rotary encoder knob and simple two wire connection for quick and easy measurements. The dedicated 0-100% span and 25% step buttons make for quick and easy testing. Ramping and auto-stepping enables technicians to perform tests remotely and be in ‘two places at once’.
The recently launched 709H Precision HART Loop Calibrator from Fluke is an easy to use tool with a user friendly inter- face and HART capabilities that reduces the time it takes to measure or source, voltage or current, and power up a loop.
The optional 709H/TRACK software with communication cable can document milliamp measurements and HART trans- mitter parameters and enable upload of data to a PC. Fluke

Secure cabling system
For deployment in IT centres as well as industrial machinery and plant automation systems, HART- ING is offering its Ha-VIS preLink interconnection technology. The key to the Ha-VIS preLink system is that cabling compo- nents are always assembled according to the same principle, with the terminal block crimped onto the data cable and a choice of mating faces available for snap-in assembly.
Several mating face variants are available including RJ45, M12 D- coded and M12 X-coded versions. The HARTING preLink cabling
system ensures fast and safe instal- lation of the cabling to achieve an operationally dependable network infrastructure. The design is inher- ently future-proof for compatibil- ity with Cat.6A/transmission class EA for 10 Gigabit Ethernet. HARTING

customers can truly fine tune their electrical loads to reduce costs, allocate costs and effec- tively manage their energy. Acti 9 also adapts and evolves with the demanding require- ments of industrial and tertiary electrical installations and pro- vides zero maintenance installa- tions which are cost effective over time.
Schneider Electric has introduced Acti 9, its new reference in low voltage modular systems. With 21 patents, the Acti 9 system is designed to make the user’s life simpler, safer and more efficient. Acti 9 connects to any facility management system, even in challenging environments, enabling simple, error-free instal- lation, performance and mainte- nance. With Modbus communications and pre-fabri- cated wiring for instant, error- proof connectivity, Acti 9 saves 40% of time spent with control wiring. Plus, with real time data coming from panels and circuits,

Schneider Electric has also introduced Acti9 Isobar - a new distribution board range to com- plement the Acti 9. The Acti9 Isobar has all the features of the existing Isobar 4c offer plus extra safety features including an inter- locked switch disconnector for each outgoing way which cannot be operated without a device fitted. This Acti 9 Isobar range will also include additional MID approved metering options within the standard offer and more internal cabling space. For full details on the Acti 9, visit

Phoenix Contact has expanded the function range of its compact Mini Analogue isolation amplifier line with the addition of five new products. They also feature a new fault logging system function which provides modular error logging in multi- channel applications. Two new temperature transducers for resistance thermometers and thermocouples meet all relevant international standards. A DIP switch allows users to quickly set the two transducers, and the modules can be easily configured for extended functionality and monitoring via the S-Port interface using a free to download software tool called analogue conf. A new frequency transducer transforms speed pulses, from less than one Hertz up to 80kHz into an analogue signal. The module supports NAMUR sensors as well as NPN and PNP outputs. The transducer is quickly configured via a DIP switch and with the ‘teaching wheel’ for freely setting measuring ranges. A new fault monitoring module also provides transparent error logging for multi-chan- nel applications for up to 80 modules that are connected via the rail mounted connec- tor. If an error is detected internally or in the signal input of a transducer, it is reported via the rail mounted connector. The fault monitoring module then displays the error via an NC contact, eliminating the need for a complicated individual evaluation. If the sys- tem is further equipped with the new feed terminal, it can also detect and report power supply failures. Phoenix Contact

New generation of fuse bases
Supplied as complete units, which include a cover plate, contact hazard protection and exterior connection clamps, Rittal has launched its new easy connect bus-mount- ing fuse bases.
Snapping onto Rittal’s RiLine60 bus- bar system, the fuse base has a modular design with options for configuration to meet specific requirements. The modu- lar design allows direct connection of 1.5mm to 25mm cables, achieved by a flexible routing system. There is an option to use a connection space exten- der which is mounted on the side of the fuse base.
Spring mounted contact plates and multi-track threads in the screw cap mountings enable easy snap fastening and good dissipation. An unlatch button on the
