London Square – Brian Betsy Brian Betsy, who joined London Square as land director at the company’s inception in 2010, has been promoted to managing director in order to drive forward the next stage in the company’s evolution. Working alongside chief executive Adam Lawrence, Betsy will continue to lead on land acquisitions and build on London Square’s £360m development pipeline, which now includes nine sites in locations including Putney, Fulham, Bermondsey and Teddington. “The past three years have been an incredibly exciting challenge. From a blank canvas in 2010, London Square now has an outstanding set of developments in the pipeline, in some of the most coveted locations in the capital,” explained Betsy. “I look forward to delivering these and identifying further opportunities for our expansion.”


Zoopla –Phil Spencer


Zoopla Property Group, title sponsor of the What House? Awards, has announced the appointment of property expert and TV personality Phil Spencer as a brand ambassador for its property website Zoopla.co.uk. Under the terms of the arrangement, which is exclusive in respect of property websites, Spencer will be working closely with the Zoopla Property Group marketing team on a variety of consumer-facing initiatives covering social media, advice forums and competitions as well as making appearances and speaking at a number of Zoopla Property Group hosted industry events. Commenting on his new role, Phil Spencer said: “Zoopla.co.uk has been leading the way in providing smarter property search over the last few years. I have a lot of respect for what the team has accomplished so far and the mission they are on to provide consumers with as much information as possible to help them make better-informed property decisions. I’m excited to be joining the Zoopla team and getting stuck in to the various initiatives we have planned.”


PPM –Tracy Conway Peverel Property Management (PPM) has appointed Tracy Conway as business development manager, a role which focuses on telling the industry about the huge number of positive changes PPM has been able to make since the Peverel Group was rescued from administration this time last year. “We know companies are interested in working with us, but we understand some of them have been waiting to see what the company will look like under the new owners,” explains Conway. “Now, one year on, the company is in a stable position and making real commitments to customer service through the customer charters. My job is to talk to companies that might have expressed interest in working with us and show them the benefits of working with us on a national basis. It’s a really exciting time to be telling PPM’s story and showing what we’re good at.”


Origin Housing Housing association Origin Housing has expanded its development team, with three new senior project managers appointed –Mark Wells (bottom right), Barrington Wilks (bottom left) and Jill Gundry (centre) – as well as Mike Dunkley (right), who has been named as head of new business. Origin Housing’s development director, Gareth Jones, commented: “I am immensely proud of the work that the development team has carried out over recent years. Our nine-person development team is efficient in terms of the number of new homes we produce each year, and we are continuing to roll out a large development with 450 new homes currently on site. Bringing in ‘new blood’ into the team ensures we continue to meet the housing needs of the communities we work with.”


Taylor Wimpey – Mariana Knight


Mariana Knight has been appointed head of sales of Taylor Wimpey in the East Midlands. “Mariana brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Taylor Wimpey East Midlands,” said managing director Dominic Harman. “She joins us at a very exciting time, with nine new developments set to be launched this


year to complement our 17 currently active developments, delivering much-needed new homes for sale in the East Midlands, including Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Peterborough, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. Mariana’s in-depth, creative knowledge will add value to the customer experience of buying a new home from the East Midlands’ most-established housebuilder.” Knight, who has over 25 years’ experience, including the last 13 years as a sales and marketing director in the housebuilding industry, commented: “I’m delighted to be joining Taylor Wimpey East Midlands at this exciting time, with all the new developments coming soon to help deliver great value brand new homes across the region.
