HALCO Lifestyle Kitchens has launched the solid stone Strata kitchen. Featuring clean lines and handleless design, the solid stone cabinets can be specifically tailored to each individual customer, with 25 different solid stone options to choose from. Despite being made from a traditionally heavy material, the 20mm thick stone doors are surprisingly light to open, and HALCO is also the only brand in the UK to offer solid stone drawers with Blum’s electronic sensor soft close system. “Stone has traditionally been used in the kitchen as a worktop material, but inspired designers are finding new and exciting ways to use this material,” said managing director Mark Andrew Jones. “You can now find stone being used as a thin slab door to create beautiful drawers that are lightweight yet striking.” The Strata kitchen retails from £26,000 including VAT.

Winning formula AEG’s T65170AV 7kg vented tumble dryer has been included in Which? magazine’s ‘Top 5 fast dryers under £450’ list. The T65170AV dryer was given an overall test score of 62%, with the Which? test lab commenting: “The AEG machine dries cotton laundry quickly, taking just an hour and 53 minutes to dry 7kg of clothes. And it’s even faster with synthetics, drying its maximum 3kg load in just 43 minutes.” The AEG T65170AV 7kg tumble dryer was also recognized as a “Great Value” product by the magazine.
