The assembled vertical pylon components were glued together using 3M77 spray adhesive (above left). The vertical pylon and motor nacelle (above right) after shaping and sanding. The elevator servo and pushrod, and the motor

the tip floats before attaching them to the wing. The nose block however, was sanded to final shape after being epoxied to the front of the fuselage.


With everything in place and final sand- ing completed, it was on to the graphics. My


kit came with the Coast Guard graphics package and for sure, it is quite an attrac- tive scheme. The graphics were printed self- adhesive vinyl and were very easy to apply. They came with transfer tape on the top sur- face which made getting them in the proper


position much easier. Once applied, I found heating the transfer tape with a hair dryer made pulling the transfer tape off much eas- ier. While not mentioned in the manual, I applied packing tape to the bottom front of the fuselage to help protect the foam.

latex caulk was used around the inside corners of the fuselage to seal the joints against water.
