hikes for the whole family to extensive chal- lenges for the experienced hiker. If hiking the courses while retrieving golf balls isn’t enough, make sure to schedule extra time for “extra- curricular” hiking!

Biking Go biking anywhere in the world and

you won’t find trails or scenic roads more spectacular than in this area. The Green Val- ley Loop, Gooseberry Mesa and other trails are becoming some of the best rated places to ride in the West. If you want smoother scenic rides, St. George City offers 30 miles of paved bike trails along rivers, through canyons and around red rock. If you don’t have room to throw your bike in with the golf clubs, there are bike rental shops in St. George and Springdale that will be happy to outfit you with equipment and maps for a “two-wheeled” scenic ride of your life!

Hiking There is no better way to see such stun-

ning scenics than on foot. Smell the desert bloom and listen to the sound of wildlife. Ex- perienced guides can take you into hidden canyons and high plateaus where few people are ever lucky enough to step foot. The wide variety of trails will fill the bill from moderate

bleu burgers, pick your own pasta, Belgian waffles or bumbleberry pancakes—take your pick for breakfast, lunch or dinner. With the wide variety of eateries—both lo- cally owned and franchised—you can relish (or remorse over) today’s scorecard in a bar and grill, sandwich café, bountiful buffet or quiet restaurant. Ask the hotel front desk for an area dining guide.

Art Galleries & Museums Perhaps it is the natural beauty of the area

that draws photographers and other artists to the region in large numbers. Whatever the case may be, make sure you take a short sce- nic drive out to Kayenta—an art community
