Heska acquires Cuattro Veterinary USA Heska Corp., a provider of veterinary diagnostic and specialty products, has acquired 54.6% of Cuattro Veterinary USA, LLC. Following the acquisition, the
company will continue to use Cuattro’s name, brands, R&D, sales, service and production resources. Cuattro Vet products are a new platform and market for Heska, but both brands anticipate that benefits from the acquisition will “expand the sales of each product segment, through increased market pres- ence, bundling programs, cross-promotion and the ability to pro- vide more value propositions to each customer contact,” according to a press release. Heska paid approximately $7.65 million in cash and stock
for its interest in Cuattro Vet—which has been operating in the United States for about 2 years—including slightly more than $4 million in cash.
AVMF hunts for America’s Favorite Veterinarian The American Veterinary Medical Foundation is asking consum- ers to nominate their favorite veterinarians. All veterinarians are qualified to be nominated. Voting ends June 1, and the winner will win a trip to
Chicago to attend AVMF’s Impact & Action Breakfast on July 21. Plus, the winner will receive a cash prize of $250 and his or her favorite veterinarian will receive a named donation in the amount of $250 and complimentary registration to the AVMA Annual Convention in Chicago. Nominations are completed in three steps: 1. Go to AVMF’s Facebook page at
facebook.com/AVMFdn. 2. Enter the veterinarian’s information and tell AVMF why he or she deserves the title.
3. Participants must upload a photo of their pet or their pet with their favorite veterinarian and submit.
“Informed cat owners know how to adapt the home environment to best interact with their cats. We’ve always felt confident that we consistently communicate key messages about feline wellness.”
But when Dr. Eigner used the Partners for Healthy Pets Opportunity online survey tool to strengthen the practice, results showed that she and her healthcare team could do an even better job of explaining the importance of the home environment to cat owners.
Dr. Eigner considers the survey a tremendous value for veterinary practitioners who want to improve communication, enhance client relationships, and deliver the highest possible level of preventive care.
“What Partners for Healthy Pets has done would be too costly to a single practice," Dr. Eigner notes. “The online Resources Toolbox, including the survey tool, is accessible, effective, and totally free. It’s a terrific way to build on your success by strengthening the relationship among all stakeholders — staff, clients, and patients.”
