2. PRAGUE’S CASTLE & COBBLESTONE STREETS Exquisite European architecture awaits on a guided excursion through Prague’s Hradcany (Castle) district and the magnificent Gothic Cathedral of St. Vitus. Tauck’s exclusive private tour of the grand libraries of Strahov Monastery, resplendent in design and décor, is a highlight; view treasures other visitors won’t see. You will have time at leisure to explore Prague’s winding cobblestone streets as you please, or you can join our local guide on a walking tour through Old Town, choosing to see the Museum of Communism or the city’s poignant Jewish sites. 3. REGENSBURG / EMBARK RIVERBOAT Drive to the quintessential Bavarian town of Regensburg, Germany, nestled on the banks of the River Danube. Walking here is a delight, and is the only way to view its historic sights up-close. A local guide will lead the way as you see the town’s 12th-century Steinerne Brücke (Germany’s oldest surviving stone bridge), the 15th-century Altes Rathaus (Town Hall), twin-spired Dom St. Peter, and the remains of the Roman wall. Enjoy lunch on your own – this medieval town is famous for its Bavarian sausage – before embarking your riverboat which will be docked on the Danube and ready for your arrival; join us for the Captain’s welcome reception and dinner tonight. PICTURESQUE PASSAU, “CITY OF 3 RIVERS” One of our guests told us that her experience on The Blue Danube was like taking a magic carpet ride through a parade of picturesque places, getting on and off in towns that just beg to be explored! Today’s early arrival in Passau, at the confluence of the Inn, Ilz and Danube rivers, lets you do just that when we disembark for a walking tour with a local guide whose passion for his hometown makes your visit even more special. Sights include Dom St. Stephan (St. Stephan’s Cathedral) and its magnificent pipe organ – the largest in Europe – and the 14th-century Town Hall. Spend some free time exploring the Baroque town’s pedestrian walkways through tunnels and archways and along ancient cobblestone streets. Board your riverboat and spend the afternoon cruising to Linz, Austria; there’s entertainment on board this evening. Meals BLD
