Innovation has been part of our DNA since the very beginning; as passionate travelers ourselves, it’s always been about creating a guest experience that’s second to none... and then making it even better. When we launched our first river cruise in 1992, we knew that our guests would expect to explore Europe’s rivers in the same memorable Tauck style they enjoyed on our land trips... that “just good enough” would never do – for our guests or for us. So we set about assembling a collection of river cruise itineraries that were ahead of their time – as well as a fleet of custom-designed riverboats that set new standards in spaciousness and comfort – so that every day of your river cruise would be inspiring, unforgettable, and beyond ordinary.

We designed our four Jewel Class riverboats – ms Swiss Jewel, ms Swiss Emerald, ms Swiss Sapphire and ms Treasures – to provide an intimate, club-like atmosphere for just 118 guests with upscale accommodations and all the advantages of a luxurious private ship. All cabins face outside, most with French balconies and sliding glass doors affording views of the passing scenery. Public spaces, including an aft casual dining area with an opening 180º glass wall, cocktail lounge, piano bar and dining room, boast panoramic windows throughout. They represent the innovation that has long been a hallmark of our river cruises, and continues today as we introduce two new ships – and a new class of vessels – to our fleet of luxury riverboats.
