Last month Christine, Peter Brett and I visited the Totally DIY and Totally Tools Trade Show, held in the Ricoh Arena in Coventry this year. We heard many comments praising the venue and visiting buyers and retailers enjoyed a delicious lunch each day. There was a very interesting display of new products and prizes were awarded for the most innovative in different categories by a panel of judges. John Collier from Monument tools had a magnificent display of historic hand and power tools. See more information and photos from the show in this edition of the magazine. Christine also visited the Executive Hire Show – again there is more
information later in this edition. At both shows it was a pleasure to meet many of our advertisers and some new faces too. We are now looking forward to attending the “Troy Means Business 2013’ early in March at Silverstone. Peter Brett has written three tool reviews this month – a Kapro Pro-
Laser from Draper, a KBB 40 Magdrill from Fein and a new product from Everbuild called Geo-Fix, an all weather solution for patios. I am looking forward to trying this out on my patio, which needs some TLC! The Talk Shop feature this month is a return visit to a company that has
moved premises to counteract some of the challenges of the recession. Matt Shires who runs Keymer Tools stresses the importance of good value and service to remain successful and this is echoed in our company profile which features Warnhill Tools and Fasteners from Cheshire. Steve Warner, one of the owners of the business talks about the need to provide customers with expertise, support and a range of competitively priced goods to ensure the future good health of the company. This article also highlights the importance of using up to date technology and the difference a good computing system can make to the problem of keeping up with stock control and purchasing. Also in this edition we announce the winners of our 200th edition competition. We are very grateful to all those that took
the time to enter this and the companies who so generously donated prizes. In April this year ToolBUSINESS+HIRE Magazine will have been in business for 20 years, starting out under the title “This ToolBusiness”. We hope you continue to enjoy reading all the news from across the tool and equipment industry for more years to come! Edition 200 included an article on the history of the magazine and this can be revisited online at
www.toolbusiness.co.uk by visiting the archive section and clicking on the 200th edition. All past editions of the magazine are available to read in page turning format on the website and include live links to advertisers websites and emails – a quick and easy way to access the information you need. There is also a link to past tool reviews, company profiles, product news and much, much more. It is worth taking time to have a look to keep up with all the news, past and present. If you have any feedback or editorial you would like to be considered for future editions of the magazine or on our website do contact us here at ToolBUSINESS+HIRE Magazine. All contact details are online and on page one of the magazine.
