A package Of Volvo Utility Equipment Help Sets CPH
On Its Way… Born out of the demise of the Doyle Group which found itself in the hands of the administrators last year, Complete Plant Hire (CPH) has set its stall out with a comprehensive range of equipment and is already demonstrating a robust and healthy hire book going into 2013. For co-directors, David Hazell, Paul Gaitely and Stephen Harvey, the formation
of CPH has been somewhat of a challenge but the dividends are now swiftly beginning to pay off as they put the last 12 months behind them and concentrate on their new hire venture. “Our first reaction at the collapse of the Doyle Group and Blythewood Plant was to attempt a management buy- out, but unfortunately this proved unsuccessful - as did an attempted purchase. We knew we could keep the plant side of things going so the three of us decided to go it alone and so CPH was born,” says David Hazell. Becoming operational in September 2012 and not far from Blythewood’s old premises, CPH set up shop with an expansive yard, workshop facility and storage for
their fleet when not on hire at nearby Cole Green. “It was important to stay close to our existing customer base and as such we’ve managed to retain a core of key customers as well as suppliers such as Volvo CE who have supported us through this metamorphosis,” continues David. And the Volvo package comprises of a comprehensive list of rollers and compact excavators ranging from 1.5 to 8.8 tonnes. In addition CPH has been helped by Volvo
CE’s utility dealer Capital Plant Solutions in sourcing low houred quality second hand Volvo utility equipment to swell the fleet which now ranges from anything from a hand drill to a 9 tonne mini excavator. “Within a short space of time we’ve now amassed some 150 items of mobile plant all of which are available for self-drive hire and to be honest, as we see things right now, we could do with a good deal more,” says David. “Our turnover is increasing dramatically each month and we are now looking to recruit additional personnel to complement the original team that showed the courage to come with us when we set up. The light is definitely in view at the end of the tunnel!”

A New Generation From SDMO At The Executive Hire Show SDMO Energy Limited, the UK arm of the power generation giant SDMO Industries, showcased three new products at the 2013 Executive Hire Show. SDMO’s brand new 6.0kVA diesel powered 6000E Silence took centre stage. This super-silent, bunded, professional site generator has been manufactured to
incorporate a host of features and benefits for the hire industry, including an extended run fuel tank and large, lockable canopy doors for easy servicing. The generator is powered by the latest Kohler engine, which includes a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty and is available either skid mounted or made portable with a two-wheel trolley kit. The SDMO team reported keen interest in their iPro 2000 and iPro 3000
inverter generators. These cleverly designed new products are manufactured in Japan and powered by a Yamaha petrol engine. iPro generators utilise the very latest inverter technology and are super quiet, making them ideally suited for applications where noise restrictions apply. Both iPro generators are fitted with an auto-idle function and produce constant, clean and stable electricity suitable for powering electronically sensitive equipment. The iPro 3000 is fitted with a useful electric start facility. Visitors to the SDMO stand viewed their new Kohler products, and in particular
the environmentally positive, dual fuel LPG Perform 3000. The Perform 3000LPG is a portable, 3.75kVA, generator fitted with the latest Kohler engine, which may be fuelled by petrol or LPG gas. The use of LPG gas is particularly beneficial in situations where any fuel spillage needs to be prevented. SDMO Energy’s Clive Dix said, “We had a great two days, the Show gave us the
dual opportunity to showcase our equipment to prospective clients and display our complete range to our existing customers. Overall we were entirely satisfied with both the quantity and, particularly, the quality of the visitors; we are already looking forward to 2014!”

Another 50 Shindaiwa Welder Generators For Adlington Shindaiwa of Wolverhampton has been supplying its ECO300 welder generators to Adlington Welding Supplies of Chorley for over 18 months and due to the high levels of customer acceptance, the company recently placed an order for an additional 50 units to meet a growing demand. The machines will be available for hire at each of Adlington’s six strategically
placed depots located across the UK, the success of which have all contributed to make Adlington one of the leading independent welding hire suppliers in the country. Commenting on the decision to add a significant number of Shindaiwa machines
to the fleet, Adlington’s director Howard Turner said: “We really like the specification of the Shindaiwa product and we continue to receive very favourable reports from our customers about the ECO300’s low noise levels, compact size, fuel economy and choice of multi-voltage outlets.” The EC300 model chosen by Adlington is currently the best selling model in
Shindaiwa’s range of welder generators and is powered by a Kubota diesel engine with an advanced auto-idle system. This system automatically sets optimum engine speed for the job in hand without first running-up to maximum rpm, hence helping to reduce fuel consumption, noise and engine wear.
