From his point of view the show was definitely worthwhile to meet the range of suppliers, most of who were extremely keen to work with THS members. The suppliers have the advantage of secure payment from THS itself, as well as the prospect of supplying very big bulk orders to some of the best retailers in the country – a win/win situation indeed. I asked Steve about any


surprising best sellers that they have had to deal with and he told me that demand for some of the bespoke items from Europe or the Far East have surprised him, and he has had to travel widely to find these items at the best prices. Health and Safety legislation


ensures that PPE kit is a regular seller too. When I asked Steve how he saw


the future for independent suppliers like Warnhill he was cautiously confident. He maintains that as long as companies like Warnhill provide expertise, support and the range of competitively priced goods that customers need, then the future should be promising. He quoted to me an example of how a customer using an outdated method of engineering something had been informed about a better and more


cost-effective solution by exploiting the knowledge of the Warnhill team. The customer gained a significant advantage, but Warnhill now has a client that will probably remain loyal and continue to spend money for the added value that Warnhill is able to offer. Sounds like good business!
