SIKATACK PANEL KEEPS MODULE DELIVERY ON TRACK AT £900M MANCHESTER METROLINK EXTENSION

A

Business news

s part of the £900 million expansion of Manchester Metrolink, modular traction substations are being located at the side of the extended tram way to provide the traction power system.

Appointed to install brick-effect cladding to blend the modules seamlessly into the urban landscape, cladding contractor A Fuller & Sons Ltd, trading as ContainerClad, needed a non-penetrative, secret fixing system to avoid piercing the fabric of the Modules, as any fluctuations in temperature and humidity may damage the units’ delicate contents. ContainerClad designed a unique fixing system using

SikaTack Panel Adhesive from global building products manufacturer, Sika, which ticked all the boxes. For further information on Sika’s range of products, visit www. sikaconstruction.co.uk or for general enquiries call on 0800 1123863.
