UK debut for Bose RoomMatch at the Barbican
THE BOSE RoomMatch progressive directivity array made its UK debut at the Ahmad Jamal concert at the Barbican Centre in London on 8 February 2013. This is the first time in four
years that the jazz pianist/ composer – whose album Blue Moon is nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Jazz Album of 2012 – has performed in the UK. Having used the Bose system during a tour in France last year, Jamal and his production team insisted that the system be used again. Unusually, RoomMatch uses mechanical design, rather than DSP, to eliminate potential acoustic issues at source. It consists of a series of array modules that can be combined to produce “concert-quality sound” – even sound coverage and tonal balance – regardless of the shape of the room where they are installed, claims Bose.
