A Program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation
U.S. Chamber Programs
Hiring Our Heroes In March of 2011, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Chamber Foundation launched Hiring Our Heroes, a nationwide initiative to help veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. Working with our network of 1,600 state and local chambers and other strategic partners from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, our goal is to create a movement across America in hundreds of communities where veterans and military families return every day. In our first 17 months, Hiring Our Heroes hosted more than 250 hiring fairs in 48 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia; more than 10,400 veterans and military spouses have gotten jobs. Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) The Young Entrepreneurs Academy is a groundbreaking yearlong program that transforms middle and high school students into real entrepreneurs. Students write business plans, conduct market research, pitch their plans to panels of investors, and launch their own legal, fully formed companies. In 2011, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National Chamber Foundation, and Campaign for Free Enterprise became national partners and sponsors of YEA! to educate tomorrow’s leaders on the principles of entrepreneurship and innovation. Through this partnership, local chambers of commerce are launching the YEA! program, with great success, in communities nationwide. For more information, contact Hilary Crow at
