TURKISH DELIGHTS The launch of Turkey, Land of Contrasts, was one of our biggest hits for 2012. Turkey straddles two continents as well as the ancient and modern worlds and this 12-day itinerary captures it all: from the elegant grandeur of the Blue Mosque, the intoxicating aromas of the Spice Bazaar to Whirling Dervishes and a hot air balloon flight over the fairy chimneys of the Göreme Valley.
WINTER IN PARADISE When Ken Burns recommended that we craft a winter tour in Yellowstone, we sort of looked at each other. Any doubts soon evaporated; our Tauck Culturious itinerary Wonderland: Yellowstone in Winter has been a tremendous success and is already sold out for 2013.
AUTÉNTICA CUBA
One of the most historic launches in Tauck’s history happened in 2012 with Cuba: Connecting with People and Culture. This People-to-People educational exchange is under a special license from the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. For eight fascinating days, Tauck’s guests are immersed in the heritage, music and arts of Cuba, including visits to the fishing village of Cojimar (inspiration for The Old Man and the Sea) and Hemingway’s home, Finca Vigia (“Lookout Farm”); we are expecting our 2013 license mid-December.
