YELLOW ROADS OF EUROPE It’s all in the experience...
For every well-trod city street, there remains a lesser-known country road that leads to a town untouched by crowds. That’s the kind of place that we feature along the “Yellow Roads” where daily life still unfolds as it has for centuries... where neighbors welcome the morning and each other with a warm-from-the-bakery baguette in hand... where friends linger over a hand-mixed, perfectly steamed cappuccino in a sidewalk cafe... where backyard games like pétanque and boules are seriously competitive but unfailingly friendly... and village squares, fragrant with lemon and spiced with local color, double as community centers where everyone meets to share stories and news.
We have our long-time favorites, of course, like the Schweizerhof Lucerne, our 5-star Swiss hotel with an irrepressible personality and a genuine commitment to treat our guests like part of the family... the little German restaurant we found in an old mill in the Black Forest back in the 90s that never fails to delight our guests with an intimate dinner... our art historian guide who has been enlightening and enlivening our tours in the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence for more than a decade... along with family farms, vineyards, private palaces and more that open their doors to friends only.
And the more we travel to places under the radar, the more new friends we make... Salvatore Ferragamo, 20th-century Hungarian painter Molnar-C. Pál’s grandson, French chef Paul Bocuse... the more exclusive access we enjoy... which all add up to the most meaningful moments you could ever have on a trip to Europe.
TIMELY VISITS
Mont-Saint-Michel has been guarded by the tides for than 1,000 years, providing access to pilgrims only when the sea receded and the sandy beach was revealed. Disappointment awaited weary travelers who did not time their visit accordingly... the walk may be steep, the path slightly damp, but your visit with us will be meticulously timed and endlessly intriguing...

MOUNTAIN CLIMBING, NO ROPES NEEDED The heights may take some getting used to, but when Tauck guests find their footing in the Swiss Alps – and hear the traditional mountain tunes played by our expert accordionist – they have a tendency to hang in there, rise to the occasion... and dance!
