EUROPEAN RIVER CRUISING History-making moments...

There’s good reason why our river cruises are consistently named among the “World’s Best.” Actually there are a lot of them... starting with our riverboats themselves. We wanted to make sure that they are as comfortable and inviting as the great hotels we stay in so we actually designed them ourselves. You’ll find our lounges and dining rooms more spacious than on other boats so you can mingle and mill about without feeling crowded or confined. Our suites and cabins are larger too and most have French balconies that open up to wonderfully picturesque riverside settings. And our beds... just sink into them at night... and thank us in the morning when you wake up refreshed and ready to start the day.

All included, our shore excursions are not run of the mill either. We are all about the destination experience so you can pretty much anticipate uncommonly fun ways to get to know the towns where we dock... like meeting the owners of chocolate shops and bakeries in little French villages to learn their secrets and taste their products right where they’re made... visiting century-old castles and wineries for home-hosted tours and tastings that marry history and traditions... and then returning to ship where a hot towel and freshly baked cookies welcome you back aboard.

River cruising continues to gain momentum for travelers of all interests and ages. Solo cruisers will find great savings in cabin Category 1 and families take over on two Tauck Bridges cruises. We’re even building more new boats next year just to keep up!

WE HOPE YOU’LL DANCE The best way to immerse in the local culture of the places where you’ll come ashore on your cruise... is to follow in the footsteps of the people... and dancers... you’ll meet.

ELEVEN VINTAGE GENERATIONS The family who makes wine together works together – for more than a century as it turns out at the Schlagkamp-Desoye family winery in Cochem. Walk through winemaking history at their museum, then toast the fruits of their labor.

WHAT’S COOKING? So much of the fun of traveling is based around food... and our river cruise architects have included all the ingredients for sampling and savoring the regional specialties of the towns we visit, along with opportunities to really get your hands around some take-home recipes... like strudel baking in Vienna, a pastry class in Paris, cheese and chocolate making demonstrations, marzipan decorating... hosted by culinary experts of course!
