You can pretty much count on waking up to something extraordinary just about every day on our Exotics journeys.
You probably don’t often get to sleep in a luxurious tented camp back home, enjoying your morning coffee on your private verandah as a choir of hippos sings to you while they bathe in the water hole in your backyard. That’s the kind of wake-up call that jump starts your day on safari. And what about the meerkat who is as curious about you as you are about him? One of our guests stood still and silent as one of these inquisitive little guys used his head as a lookout tower during his visit to a meerkat colony in Zambia. Meeting the locals and experiencing daily life through their eyes is all part of the allure of traveling to someplace really different.
Which is why we go out of our way to seek out the little moments that have the biggest impact. Like panda hugging at a breeding center in Chengdu, China, meditating with monks in Kathmandu, having lunch with a farmer at his humble home along the Mekong River... and many other unexpected life experiences that come around only once in a lifetime but return often in memories that stand out the most.
FAIR WINDS OFF AFRICA We’ve spiced up our stay in Zanzibar with a dolphin-watching ocean cruise aboard a trading ship called a dhow – followed by time to trade snorkeling and fish-spotting tips as you swim near beautiful coral reefs off a gem of a sandy beach.

Wet your lips for a taste of New Zealand’s green lipped mussels on a cocktail cruise. If the mere thought of sampling this popular seafood makes you queasy, the local wine we serve along with them makes them go down easy!
If you need a rewarding reason to wake up at dawn, here’s one you won’t be able to resist: a hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti as wildlife stirs below you to start a new day, touching down to a champagne breakfast impeccably served in the bush!
