Oklahoma Electric


Cooperative (OEC) is seeking students to participate in the Touchstone Energy Leadership Summit to be held Sat., Jan. 19, 2013, at the Express Events Center in Oklahoma City. This annual event is designed to excite and motivate high school sophomores, juniors and seniors to become leaders within their communities. Two students will be selected


from the OEC service area to attend the Leadership Summit and OEC will provide both


students with a $250  10 students to submit an application will be entered into a


drawing for a $50 Target gift card. Thirty students representing


Touchstone Energy electric cooperatives around Oklahoma will be attending the event. Almost 200 Oklahoma high school students have been recognized for their leadership abilities by having the opportunity to attend one of the previous Touchstone Energy Leadership Summits. The Jan. 19 program will be


from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature energetic and motivating leadership expert Rhett Laubach, owner of Edmond-based YourNextSpeaker!.


Students selected to attend the


Leadership Summit, their parents, and their co-op sponsors will attend the Oklahoma City Barons hockey game at the Chesapeake Event Center in Oklahoma City that evening. The students are scheduled to meet the Barons team and coach, and one lucky student will have the opportunity to make a puck shot for a $1,000 scholarship during one of the game’s intermissions.
