SANTA PARASOL COVERS BY MAY SUNSHADES Whether you operate a restaurant, café or bar in an amusement park, animal park or any other kind of visitor attraction it’s about this time of year that you probably think about putting away your parasols for the winter. But wouldn’t it be great if you could protect those umbrellas in a festive fashion? A German company has come up with a solution to do just that. “Why not combine something nice with something useful and consequently create a one-of- a-kind Christmas decoration?” asks a spokesperson for the parasol manufacturer May Sunshades.
Why not indeed! These new Santa Claus protection covers create a special mood and can be wrapped in a chain of lights for added atmosphere! To complete the effect, festive hats are available in different prints and sizes – just like the fairy on top of the proverbial Christmas
tree.So don’t forget, just because it’s winter, there’s no reason your brolly can’t be jolly!
patioparasols.com SNACK TREK BY HEINE MACK
Following the launch of “the world’s first rollercoaster restaurant” in Nürnberg, Germany, and FoodLoop at Europa-Park, Heine Mack has adapted its theme park food concept into a mobile product called SnackTrek.
Food and drinks are despatched on trays along a looping metal track simulating a rollercoaster ride – without any spills! Customers then collect their order at the other end of the track. Three configurations are available including a rickshaw and two trailer-mounted units. For the theme park guest on the go, optional card clips are available so that a drinks bottle and two food cartons can be held in one hand (as pictured below). Looks like fun, but can SnackTrek actually generate higher revenues than a standard refreshment cart? Yes, says Heine Mack managing director Michael Mack: “At Europa-Park everyone expected FoodLoop to take trade from the park’s existing restaurants, but what it has actually done is encourage people to stay longer in the park, including those who may not normally have considered eating, and hence generate more revenue.”
