Toy firms to return to Harrogate Nursery Fair


Strong uptake from toy sector already for next year’s show, says organiser  Stand space is still available by Samantha Loveday


THE HARROGATE Nursery Fair is looking to attract even more toy companies than before to next year’s show, the organiser has confirmed to ToyNews.


The event runs from March 24th to 26th 2013 at the Harrogate International Centre. This year’s show was hailed as the most successful in its 43-year history, with more exhibitors than ever before. Toy companies attending included Tomy, Marbel, Hippychick, Asobi, Rainbow Designs, Trunki, Great Gizmos, East Coast Nursery Products and Best Years among others. These are all expected to re-sign for 2013. Adrian Sneyd, who heads the Harrogate Nursery Fair organising team, also confirmed to ToyNews that


Bigjigs and Melissa and Doug have signed up for 2013 as first time exhibitors. He is expecting a strong uptake from toy companies, with some stand space still available. In addition, Sneyd said that the show is targeting even more retail buyers next year, in particular from garden centres.


“We were completely overwhelmed with demand for exhibition space this year and as a consequence had to open additional halls in order to accommodate every company wishing to exhibit,” Sneyd commented. “With over 200 exhibitors, [2012] proved to be the biggest Harrogate Nursery Fair ever and post show


Tomy bolsters pre-school lines


TOMY IS introducing a swathe of new lines to its Play to Learn collection in 2013, as its looks to further extend the popularity of the brand with retailers and consumers.


The developmental play range will welcome Wibble Wobble Rabbit and Wibble Wobble Duckling, both designed to encourage ‘follow-along fun’ for tots. In addition, Tomy will introduce the new Peek a Boo Lion Cub for children aged six months and up. Elsewhere, Tomy has strengthened its Winnie the Pooh nursery range with a number of new additions. These include the Cuddle n Glow Pooh, which plays five
