Giant LED screen in Amsterdam square

A 108SQM LED screen has been unveiled on Rembrandtplein – a major square in the heart of Amsterdam – by blowUP media, part of the international Ströer Group. The ‘Super Motion’

widescreen digital format is delivering eye-catching advertising from companies such as Pepsi, Universal Pictures, Nike, Acer and Mercedes to “hard to reach audiences” in the square. With the screen situated close to well-known shopping districts Kalverstraat and Utrechtsestraat and numerous cafés, clubs, bars, restaurants as well as the famous Tuschinski cinema, the advertising content is said to be receiving over 300,000 impacts per week. “As market leaders in large-

UNITED KINGDOM Imago offers free cross-platform VC

VideoMeet Connect, a new feature that allows free access to HD videoconferencing through a browser, has been launched as part of the Deutsche Telekom VideoMeet service. Imago Group, Deutsche Telekom’s UK partner, will be making this feature available through resellers that are already marketing VideoMeet subscription packages to customers.

Launched through Imago earlier this

year, VideoMeet is the first product of its kind to connect users of all videoconferencing systems from Skype, Microsoft Lync and Google Chat, through to Polycom, LifeSize and Cisco solutions. VideoMeet Connect will allow business users to join videoconferences directly from a web

browser without the need for additional software – eliminating the need for video client downloads. According to the company, this will reduce the risk of security violations and removes issues relating to internal firewalls preventing the downloading of video. Powered by the Blue Jeans

Network, VideoMeet is said to be the

to promote development in this area and acquire additional sites. The Rembrandtplein is the kick-off for our premium large-format digital and will be an important extension to our high-impact portfolio,” explained Ernst Vos, managing director Benelux, blowUP media. Vos believes that turnover in the Dutch OOH media market will increase dramatically over

the next four years. Harry Dekker, Unilever’s media director Benelux, commented: “Our brands need emotional images in close proximity to their young urban target audience. With giant digital posters such as the Super Motion, we are able to embed our brand identity in the cityscape and escort the target group right to the door of the shop!” www.blowup-media.co.uk
