BRIGHTSIGN XD RANGE

IT’S… A line of solid-state digital signage media players with PC-class performance, said to be the industry’s first.

DETAILS: BrightSign says its new XD products are the first solid-state players to offer video and other multimedia capabilities that were

previously only possible with a PC-based solution. This includes the ability to display live HDTV broadcast content using an ATSC/Clear QAM tuner or HDMI input. The ATSC tuner is used to play cable TV or closed-circuit TV broadcasts, and the HDMI input to play any broadcast

content – even if it is HDCP- protected.

The digital signage media

players are available in three configurations. The XD230 Networked Player can play two 1080p60 videos or several lower-resolution videos simultaneously from local, networked and

streaming sources – with

support for Full HD, HTML5 and 3D content. The XD1030 Networked Interactive Player engages the audience with a diverse range of interactive controls such as touch/swipe, GPIO, serial, USB, UDP and mobile devices. Finally, the XD1230 Networked Interactive and Live HDTV player includes all the features that the XD1030 offers, plus live HDTV playback via HDMI and ATSC inputs.

All models include an

advanced video-decoding engine with superior scaling technology that delivers

SHURE DISTRIBUTION ULXD4D, ULXD4Q

IT’S… Two multichannel receivers for the

ULX-D Digital Wireless Microphone System, featuring a High Density mode that enables 63 channels to operate in 8MHz of RF spectrum, as well as integrated Dante digital audio networking.

DETAILS: The new receivers offer two or four channels of wireless in one rack space, with individual gain controls, LED meters and XLR outputs for each channel. Several new features are also

introduced, including High Density mode, which optimises the system’s output power, and digital RF filtering to reduce its spectral footprint to 125kHz, with no loss of sound quality. This lets ULX-D systems be tuned to frequencies that are much closer together without interfering with each other. Even in Standard mode, up to 22 ULX-D systems can operate in one 8MHz TV channel. The ULXD4D and ULXD4Q receivers are also equipped with integrated

Dante digital audio networking, which enables multiple channels of audio to be distributed to a variety of devices over a single Ethernet cable. Adding Dante Digital audio networking therefore simplifies set-up, while also increasing flexibility in installed sound systems.

AND ALSO: Other features include bodypack frequency diversity, interference detection, audio summing, a reliable and intelligent rechargeable battery system and digital encryption.

F85 SERIES PROJECTIONDESIGN

IT’S… The latest three-chip DLP 2D- and 3D-capable projector from projectiondesign.

DETAILS: The F85 series is the brightest projector in the Norwegian manufacturer’s range. It boasts a brightness of up to 11,000 lumens and a contrast ratio of 14,000:1 for crisp, detailed images. The device is available in WUXGA or 1080p resolution versions as well as a special version that can optically switch between REC 709 and DCI P7 colour spaces. It brings colour saturation and accuracy, optional image processing and connectivity to any installation space. As well as 2D imaging, the

projector can be used in active or passive 3D stereoscopic mode, removing the requirement for multiple projectors in stereoscopic set-up. The F85 series can display sequential 3D at up to 120Hz, as well as frame rate convert any input signal to 120Hz with

the X-PORT DCC120, and combine two input streams to a single sequential.

AND ALSO: The projector benefits from proprietary Advanced Color Optical Processing (ACOP), which combines fixed and motorised optical filters to enable accurate optical calibration without any loss of bit depth. When combined with projectiondesign’s RealColor colour management system, ACOP ensures on-site colour calibration with performance to achieve any desired colour standard.

1080p60 video and supports 3D content. They also come with BrightSign’s

free BrightAuthor software, for

creating, publishing, managing and monitoring digital signage displays.

AND ALSO: All models support HTML5, so content creators can use familiar development tools to create content. In addition, BrightSign’s usual touchscreen interactivity is enhanced with swipe/gesture control.
