AVnu Alliance goes automotive
AVNU ALLIANCE has taken the next step in its mission to create widespread high- quality synchronised audio and video by establishing the AVnu Automotive AVB Gen2 Council (AAA2C). The AAA2C, which was
formed following an initial ‘kick-off’ meeting held in September in Regensburg, Germany, is a committee of automotive industry experts that will identify automotive requirements for the future development of the second generation of Audio-Video
Bridging (AVB) standards. AVB Gen2, which is in development within the IEEE, expands functionality in areas such as time-sensitive transmission, ultra-low latency and fault tolerance. “As industry interest and adoption of AVB continues to grow within the automotive space, now is an opportune time to think about next- generation specifications,” said Rick Kreifeldt, AVnu Alliance president and VP of research & innovation, Harman.

WITH THE historic Volkswagen power plant as the backdrop, this summer’s annual water shows at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg attracted audiences totalling 235,000. Multimedia shows were held on a daily basis after sunset in the harbour basin across from the power plant. Bochum-based tarm Showlaser installed multiple laser systems around the site. These were combined with three water screens and a 630sqm LED screen on the 7,000sqm grounds to present a combination of water, flame, laser and light effects and video displays, synchronised to music.
