From crafting the perfect resume to bringing world-class companies to campus, the Center for Internships and Career Development will help make your dream job a reality.
Prepare for your future
Eastern offers experiential learning opportunities that encourage independent thought and decision- making to help students prepare for a career or graduate study. At Eastern, you will complete an internship or creative project; conduct undergraduate research; perform community service; or gain other practical experiences to apply the skills you have developed in the classroom. Our Center for Internships and Career Development will also help connect you to internship and cooperative education experiences.
Each year, a number of Eastern students spend a semester at Disney World in Orlando, FL, as participants in the Disney College Internship Program.
Eastern students complete internships at more than 70 locations, including:
• Animal Planet • CIGNA • The Connecticut Science Center • Disney • ESPN • Goodspeed Opera House • IBM • Merrill Lynch • Mystic Aquarium • NBC-30 • Pratt and Whitney • United Nations
An on-site “Work Hub” in Winthrop Hall gives students the opportunity to develop practical skills as they work for private companies and other organizations — without having to leave campus. The facility features separate offi ces, computer technology and other professional workplace resources so that students literally “go to work” for private and public sector clients.
More than 75 percent of students have applied learning experiences before graduation.
