When GAP decided to refurbish their London flagship store in Oxford Street, they wanted to up the anti on their store layout by getting some innovative decorative pieces from Applelec. The finished store features Applelec’s giant decorative letters and LED Light Sheet display lighting to help create a more exciting store atmosphere. When the British weather is letting us

down, there’s nothing like a bright shop display to remind us that it is the summer. GAP has managed to drown out the drizzle with a vivacious and colourful window display and interior scheme to support the clothing ranges on display at the London flagship store.

formed letters in bold shades of green, violet, orange and blue to add an extra sense of excitement to the store design. The coloured acrylic letters have been face illuminated using white LEDs to match the pallets. The letters spell out GAP, and can be positioned individually around the store, which will be valuable as the store design changes and new promotions are introduced. Applelec are delighted by the success of

their work with the retailer, as Ian Drinkwater, Applelec’s Managing Director,

explains; “GAP specified Applelec’s LED Light Sheet along with our large format illuminated acrylic letters, which have been extremely popular this year. Applelec’s large letters and LED Light Sheet have now been specified by a number of brands in a process that sees us regularly working with various retailers’ sign makers and shopfitters on elements of design detailing.” Once the current display ends, the

illuminated GAP letters will remain at the Oxford Street store, and will be used as props, whilst the LED Light Sheet units are set to be reused in future installations.
