Products UPS & Standby Power Eco-friendly EF 300 series

BPC’s new EF 300 series UPS is available up to 120kVA capacity and, because it requires a mini- mum amount of space and pro- vides greater control of all the UPS subsystems, it is well suited for advanced enterprise comput- ing installations.

Utilising DPS technology, the UPS combines BPC’s digital signal processor control technol- ogy with a green manufacturing philosophy. This results in a UPS design that incorporates the latest generation power compo- nents and improved conversion circuit topology in order to maximise efficiency.

By using the latest DSP tech- nology the vulnerable, trans- former-based interface circuitry is eliminated and replaced by DSP processing. This means that efficiency, reliability and functionality are enhanced. A further benefit of the DSP system is the ability for the UPS to be programmed to suit a variety of electrical environments without jeopar- dising its performance, while improving maintainability

through powerful self diagnos- tic routines.

The UPS helps to reduce environmental impact as it has fewer components and con- trolled levels of noise pollution. It therefore provides a UPS with a reduced carbon footprint whilst still achieveing clean continuous power for industrial computing installations. BPC www.bpc-ups.com T: 01794 521 200

Like most companies today, Plantronics relies on a reliable power supply for all its commu- nication, such as telephone and ICT. Therefore, protecting the data centre and its air condition- ing system against power outages was crucial, as any powercut

would have a detrimental effect on the running of the company. To ensure that there is no break in power, shentongroup engineers specified a 110kVA generator and 200A AMF changeover panel. The generator has been placed on a concrete base, also supplied by shentongroup, and is enclosed in a security cage. It is supplied with an SNMP adaptor, weather-proof super-silent canopy and is equipped with an integral fuel tank. To ensure the consistent reli- ability of the generator, Plantronics has contracted with shentongroup to supply its Powercare24 service agreement which it is supplying free of charge for the first year. shentongroup www.shentongroup.co.uk T: 0844 888 4445
