World premiere: the new Boeing 747-8 is here! Experience the new generation jumbo — exclusively with Lufthansa

Since its first flight in 1969 the Boeing 747 has been the world’s most successful long-haul aircraft and has cast its spell over crews, passengers and flight enthusiasts in equal measure. A new chapter has now been written in this success story: Lufthansa is the first airline in the world to put the new Boeing 747-8, with its many innovations, into scheduled operation. The first route, Frankfurt – Washington, can already be booked. Other destinations will be Bangalore, Chicago, Delhi and Los Angeles. One of the highlights on board: the new Business Class seat.

Passengers who appreciate the exceptional will enjoy an especially exclusive travel experience in Lufthansa First Class on the 747-8 — right at the front of the main deck, in fact, in the quietest part of the aircraft.

The new Lufthansa Business Class impresses with its spaciousness and pleasant ambience, whilst the new seat, with its intuitive controls, adjusts to provide a fully flat bed. The Economy Class offers significantly more legroom than previously, the latest generation of comfort seats and an individually operated entertainment programme.

There is innovation from a technical point of view too: the new jumbo has been developed to meet today’s higher standards in both environmental and economic respects. The innovative engines use less fuel, reduce CO2

emissions and lower noise levels.
