A fantastic selection of brands step forward for 12 – 14 August NEC Birmingham
T
he summer edition of Moda Footwear will welcome an exciting line-up of show newcomers and industry giants from across the world to offer the best in
footwear design and of–the-moment trends at the show, which takes place from 12-14 August at the NEC Birmingham. Making first time appearances at the UK’s
largest footwear trade exhibition will be Panama Jack, CoupleOf, Mistral, Melania, Sam and Lee, Palladium, Jack & Jones, Skono and more. The new additions will add even more weight to the ever-growing host of names which includes show regulars Wrangler Footwear, Original Penguin, Base London, Ikon Footwear, Rockport, Iron Fist, Mustang Shoes, Mephisto, Geox, Rocket Dog, Umi, Froddo, Keds, Ricosta, Bobux plus many more. Spanish label Panama Jack promises an
extended line of young and trendy sandals, loafers and clogs all made from the finest quality leather. Its spring/summer 13 collection captures the brand’s philosophy of ‘natural life and style’. Israeli newcomer CoupleOf is set to wow visitors with its striking designs featuring colour-pop brights, unusual silhouettes and laser detailing. An active lifestyle range for men and women will also be available from Swiss brand Mistral. Stonewashes, dyed leather and suede finishes in Hawaiian prints, natural shades and full colour spectrums make for a must-see collection. The kids’ zone in the footwear hall will see Italian label Melania showing its footwear range for 0-16 year olds for the first time this August. The label consults with child growth experts to deliver top quality products that are durable, unique and fun for every occasion. Sam and Lee introduces its children’s range of shoes to the event also for the first time this season. The label will deliver casual styles, boots, sandals, party shoes and back-to- school ranges for boys and girls. Over at Select, the area for urban and
contemporary footwear and menswear brands will be new arrivals including heritage label Palladium with its signature cutting-edge style, premium materials and modern manufacturing. Danish brand Jack & Jones, meanwhile, will show an extensive collection comprising its three core
lines - Intelligence, Vintage and Premium, with each story representing the brand’s key style values. Inspired by Scandinavian landscapes and culture is the spring/summer 13 range from Norwegian label Skono, which will feature streamlined designs with practicality and uniqueness as its focus. T.U.K. Shoes, Wrangler Footwear and Grinders are just some of the other names to be found in the zone. FLIP, the UK’s brand new trade event for
urban and active sports brands, which will run alongside Moda at the NEC Birmingham, will feature footwear collections from Brazilian flip- flip brand Amazonas. The label makes its UK debut this season and will present its first sustainable flip-flop collection made with latex from the native rubber trees found in the Amazon rainforest. Each shoe takes just five years to decompose thanks to the biodegradable rubber used. Gumbies will also be in attendance with its fun range of footwear including the aqua shoe, designed to be worn for water sports, and the Ozpadrille shoe, which is described as the ideal holiday shoe due to its lightweight and foldable qualities. Moda will host the spring/summer 13
collections from 12-14 August at the NEC Birmingham. The UK’s leading trade fashion event will also feature daily fashion, evening and occasionwear and lingerie & swimwear catwalk shows. The free-to-all visitors seminar programme will cover topics including mobile commerce, PR & marketing, social media and visual merchandising.
