MANAGED SERVICES cloud

area, but because CA Technologies has embedded this technology into its ITSM tools and since processes are ubiquitous in IT, it has an ability to scale out and provide value throughout IT. In other words, what might start as a DR risk reduction project can become something that changes the cost structure and agility levels of the entire IT organisation. Just to give you a sense, there are not many times a tool can help DR and cut application deploy times by 90%, cut service request management costs dramatically, and reduce some incident management labour costs by a degree of magnitude.

d) Compliance

I could mention CA Process Automation again here as well as how it integrates our Configuration Automation offerings, but I will focus on e) Security

Again, I could mention CA Process Automation and how it supports security, but let me talk a little about … f) Big Data

I know I sound like a broken record, but again I could bring up CA Process Automation because big data often requires extracting data from different tools, moving data sets, configuring or formatting these sets, marshalling data, and distributing reports and all of these activities can benefit from having CA Process Automation automate them so that they are done without requiring staff, done consistently, and done at machine speed.

QAny other technologies/issues that you see on the horizon?

A No not really…unless you mean any technologies or issues on the horizon like how cloud offerings are creating IT governance challenges like never before due to the ease, speed, and cost of those services where someone with a company charge card can subscribe to a third party service and compromise the integrity of sensitive data or fracture IT spend when the pattern is repeated across thousands of employees, where IT agility is defining business competitiveness like never before, where applications that use to be deployed every year are being deployed every two weeks, where staffing is changing radically due to massive retirements of baby-boomers on the one hand and a flatter world bringing billions into the market for IT services on the other, where device proliferation makes the change from mainframe computing to distributed computing look like child’s play, where the flow of technologies from the enterprise to the mass consumer market is being reversed, and where open source and technology agendas of new employees is often pitted against the office of the CIO.

QCan you provide brief details of the most recent product offerings from CA Technologies?

A Some of our most recent product offerings were announced at CA World in November last year and included:

CA Cloud 360: which provides enterprises with a prescriptive approach to help validate and select which applications and business services are best suited for private, public and hybrid clouds, via a four-stage process combined with expert consulting from CA Services.

Cloud Commons® Ecosystem; which now has a new Cloud Commons Marketplace uniting buyers and sellers of cloud solutions and services and allowing them to compare, procure, manage, and sell ongoing subscription-based cloud solutions, services and content. And also the Developer Studio where independent software vendors can create cloud-ready IT solutions designed for both public and private cloud environments, using the CA AppLogic® platform.

CA AppLogic; which provides users with a turnkey cloud platform - building on the successful launch of r3.0 in July, we have delivered a significant upgrade with r3.1; which now includes support for Cisco’s USC platform, delivers enhanced hardware capability; and enhanced role based access control.

CA Automation Suite for Clouds; which was first announced in July as a single solution to transform existing data centers by rapidly rolling out private cloud services and realise faster time-to-value for a cloud deployment. This new release of the solution adds support for additional platforms such as the CA AppLogic platform, VCE vBlock™ Infrastructure Platforms, and Microsoft Hyper-V, IBM LPAR, Oracle Solaris Zones and VMware View.

CA Application Performance Management; the latest release unleashes the next generation of APM with the industry’s first and only unified application, infrastructure and network performance solution that helps eliminate hybrid-cloud infrastructure blind spots to put customers firmly in control of the end-user experience.

CA CloudMinder™; has added two additional solutions to its family of IAM as-a-Service offerings. CA IdentityMinder as-a-Service and CA FedMinder as-a-Service deliver key capabilities for increasing security and improving operational efficiencies while providing all the benefits of a cloud deployment model: elasticity to expand or contract service support as needed; shorter deployment cycles; and cost-savings as a result of reduced IT administration.

We also have made a number of acquisitions over the last couple of years such as Nimsoft , ITKO (solutions to enable our customers to shorten application development cycles while continuing to reduce costs), Hyperformix (a Capacity Management solution to help customers accelerate their journey from virtualisation to the cloud) and 3Tera AppLogic (CA Technologies portfolio for cloud configuration and deployment).

QAnd what can we expect from CA Technologies during 2012?

A More of the same – more innovation, more value to our customers. CA Technologies is in such a strong position at the moment, and that is not just a statement from us, but from IDC, a leading provider of global IT research and advice, who have rated one of the top two market share leaders in the worldwide cloud systems management software market1based on rapid adoption by large Systems Center installed base

QHow do you see CA Technologies’ relationship with The Channel evolving over the next couple of years, bearing in mind the

changing IT landscape?

A Of course CA Technologies and our channel partners will continue to evolve, just like the needs of our customers will. At the

end of the day, CA Technologies is going to work relentlessly to meet the needs of our customers across a variety of industry verticals and market segments and across a changing landscape of technology developments. We will evolve and engage with channel partners so we can do this in the best way possible.

QPlease can you provide a couple of recent customer examples that you believe illustrate what differentiates CA Technologies

A Sure. We have many customers that we are doing some great things with at the moment, including a couple that I will give you

and its solutions? some information on. Logicalis provides ICT solutions and services
