Maintaining the Relationship with the Environment Agency and Scottish Environment Protection Agency
CPI maintains a good working relationship with the EA in England and Wales and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.
We hold regular meetings to address issues of industry-wide relevance, thus avoiding unnecessary repetition of issues at an installation level.
This relationship has brought benefits to both parties in the past and will continue to be an ongoing focus for 2012 and beyond, particularly with the implementation of the revised BREF.
Paper Sludge
2012 will see the launch on the CPI website of the revised Code of Practice for the Landspread of Paper Sludge. The Environment Agency has proposed trial work on landspread of sludges and intends to look at the cost benefit of sludge options. CPI will work closely with the EA on this issue.
