M-Series deluxe instrument panel updates Engine speed control
All deluxe instrument panels in M-Series loaders, including 600 frame-size loaders, which are not affected by iT4 in 2012, will provide simplifi ed navigation and more in-depth information regarding operator and machine performance. Operators can set three different drive response modes and select them with simple push-button controls, and now it’s easier to change the setting in the information area. This can be found in the left panel information area.
Machine performance A new display screen titled “Machine Performance” with three functions — viewed only by owner-level individuals — assists with monitoring key data to determine productivity rates and other project metrics.
1. User login information Stores usernames, plus hour and time columns record precise usage information.
2. Overall job statistics This screen provides a job clock, idle time, total fuel consumption and gallons per hour, reducing guesswork on project resource allocations.
3. User job statistics (see image below) With specifi c user statistics, including fuel usage, engine idle time and total fuel, productivity can be precisely gauged to individuals.
4. Vitals Viewed by all users, this screen has been updated to display real-time fuel consumption and the time elapsed since the last DPF regeneration.
5. Simplifi ed panel Viewed by all users, simple tools, including a “Home” button, allow for a quick return to the home screen. A “Layer” button shows how many clicks remain to the home screen.
This new instrument panel display shows user job statistics, including the user’s name, fuel usage, engine idle time and total fuel consumption.

700 and 800 frame-size loaders with iT4 compliant diesel engines must use engine oil rated at API CJ-4, which contributes to reduced ash in the diesel particulate fi lter (DPF).
Engine oil and fuel requirements Bobcat®
Ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel (15 parts per million) It is important to remember that only ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel may be used in iT4 compliant 700 and 800 frame-size loaders. ULSD has been available in the United States and Canada since 2010.
CJ-4 rated engine oil is common engine oil, and is not specifi c to iT4 compliant diesel engines. In fact, it has been used since 2006 in on-highway vehicles and is readily available through your local Bobcat
dealer. Bobcat premium engine oil — 10W-30 or 15W-40 — can be purchased in a variety of volumes, and can be used with any vintage Bobcat loaders or in gasoline engines. The high- performance engine oil has superior soot-viscosity
control, contributes to reduced low-temperature sludge buildup and high-temperature deposits, and helps maintain viscosity in severe temperature service.
Why low-sulfur diesel fuel? Sulfur is a signifi cant contributor to pollutants that exist in diesel engine exhaust, and the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) used with iT4 engines is dependent on ULSD, which has signifi cantly less sulfur compared to prior diesel fuels (15 ppm versus 500 ppm). Higher amounts of sulfur, than what is contained in ULSD, will ruin the DOC, requiring it to be replaced — a costly repair to the exhaust system.
