All augers may look alike but Bobcat® auger attachments have a distinct advantage over others. Bobcat augers can actually dig deeper because of a better design and geometry that allow the auger to penetrate deeper. In the test, the Bobcat auger was able to dig 7½ inches deeper than other brands using the same bit. The reason is because other brands have a bumper that hits the ground and causes them to stop. The added dig depth allows for deeper footings, reaching more stable soil or digging below the frost line.
Video #2 AUGER MAINTENANCE
Properly maintaining attachments will lengthen their life span and sustain their performance. Not all augers have the same maintenance schedule and intervals. Bobcat augers have an advantage over others with a direct drive motor that provides power to get the optimum balance between torque and RPM. Some other augers have a planetary drive system with higher operating costs and more maintenance needs. Additionally, there are fewer moving parts with Bobcat Company’s direct drive motor; other brands have gears that need service at shorter intervals.
