BOBCAT INDUSTRIAL GRAPPLE ADVANTAGES Video #1 A Bobcat®
INDUSTRIAL GRAPPLE CLOSING FORCE
industrial grapple, available in bucket or fork bottom, can save operators hours of time and effort. The grapple secures bulky and uneven loads and keeps them in place until the loader carries them to their destination. The grapple’s tines do more than hold loads in place. The strong clamp force allows the machine’s power to bite into, secure and pull away stubborn material.
To measure the various brands of grapple closing force, Bobcat powered them with the same loader. Bobcat measured maximum grapple closing force by positioning a load cell attached to a tine in an identical position; the higher closing force the better. Bobcat repeated the same test with three other brands. The Bobcat grapple had more than two-and-a-half times more force than some brands.

INDUSTRIAL GRAPPLE VISIBILITY
Bobcat grapples offer better views for tasks such as sorting debris, securing odd-shaped objects and clamping tree limbs with tines. In this video, Bobcat demonstrates how fi nessing a piece of debris close to a building requires good sight lines. Some grapple designs have confi ned views, but not Bobcat grapples.
The test demonstrates placing a barrel under a fi re hydrant mounted on a building. With the grapple open, the operator is instructed to stop moving forward when the fi re hydrant is no longer visible. Some brands required the operator to stop as much as 47 inches from the barrel. The Bobcat grapple has no problem getting close to the building without damaging the hydrant. Bobcat grapples provide the best visibility for improved operator productivity.
