E-flite Sea Fury

All of the wiring in the wing is tucked into the molded channel (above left) prior to applying the underwing panel which hides it. After the panel is installed with some clear tape (above right) the aileron linkages are installed. The E-flite Park 480 and 40-amp ESC are installed in the front

end (below left). This installation allows plenty of cooling air to move over the ESC. The included prop, prop adapter and spinner are installed (below right). The prop hub must be shortened and the nut rim ground down to fit properly. Text has details.

bottom out in the pocket of the rear portion of the spinner. No matter how much you tighten it the prop adapter does not fully grip the motor shaft. To fix it I used my Dremel and a sanding

drum to take a few thousandths off of the rim of the nut so that it fully seats. Once trimmed the prop assembly is very sound. An easier option would be to substitute a traditional hex nut. The rudder on the Sea Fury comes mold-

ed to the fuse, and it must be separated with a sharp hobby knife. Measurements are provided to position the hinges and tail- wheel wire which are glued in with CyA. Lastly, the overly large tailwheel and rud- der control horn are installed. After in- stalling the wing for reference with three long machine screws, the elevator joiner is slid into place, and then the horizontal stab positioned and glued with CyA. Lastly the elevator halves are glued in place (the

;hinges are already glued into the eleva- tors). Once the glue is dry I was sure to work the elevators by hand to loosen them up. They are only driven via a pushrod on one side, so if they are too tight you won’t get equal throw on both sides. In preparation for the maiden flight I charged up the E-flite 2200 mAh 3S Li-Po and inserted it into the fuselage. It slides into the fuse and up to the firewall. A foam block is provided which slides in behind the

into place using a molded block for alignment (above right). Note that the joiner wire must be inserted before gluing the stab in!
