The old Scientific Skymaster II(above left) is back from a new source. Black Hawk Models will be restoring some great old timer kits, now with laser-cut parts. Here are some incredibly detailed scale Vickers machine guns (above right), small enough for peanut scale. They were sent to Don by Ted Grenier

and made by John Oshust. Don has no more data but thought they would be worth showing. For everyone who wants to fly micro electric R/C, indoors or out or convert their old gas and rubber jobs to electric R/C, Bob Aberle’s book, on CD (below left), is for you.

also reduce sales of Band-Aids and razor blades. Larry The Red Baron introduced himself to me through a recent

e-mail. Larry is the head honcho of Black Hawk Models and had three old time kits to tell me about. They are: the 30-inch Nomad gas profile fuselage for F/F, the Golden Falcon at 24 inches and the old Scientific Skymaster II at 36-inch span. I had a Skymaster a long time ago and it proved to be a rugged, stable, flyer that made several 2-minute flights at the old Galeville, NY field. All the kits are laser-cut and very complete. The Nomad even includes a glass eye dropper gas tank. The kits seem reasonably priced for today’s market. Contact Larry

at LarryTheRed Baron@aol.com or Black Hawk Models, 300 East Ar- bor Street #42, Long Beach, CA 90805, 562-728-5661. A fellow from Greece named G. Kandylakis seems to have more patience than anyone I know. He is building a peanut Spad with about a zillion wing ribs and each rib is laser hollowed for light- ness. I could easily duplicate this in about 12 years, working 23 hours a day. What really impresses me is that Mr. Kandylakis will take the chance to fly this wonder and maybe suffer a crash. Our hats are off to you Mr. K. On the other end of the spectrum, Rod Persons sent me a picture

of his two grandsons, cousins Jordan Persons on the left and Jeff Persons on the right, winding a Skokie at the annual Jimmy Allen Postal contest last July, flown at the Petaluma site. My grandsons like to fly my simulator but just won’t try to glue some balsa.

Rod Persons has managed to get two of his grandsons, Jordan and Jeff, interested in rubber power stick and tissue. That’s 200% better than Don Ross has done with his grandsons. Here they are winding a Skokie.
