erma Grit brand hand tools are a wonderful addition to your shop. I purchased mine when at the AMA Nationals in the Tri-Cities area of
Pasco, Washington in 1989 and still am us- ing mine today. I bought them as a package of eight different grits and tool shapes in a roll-up storage container. The tool roll con- tainer is fastened with hook and loop pads. As their brochure states: “They are available in a variety of sections and sizes and differ- ent grit grades. The coarse selection is for rapid removal, and the fine items are for fin- ishing work. The range covers most tasks that involve sanding and shaping. They are all extremely strong, robust, and long lasting.
“Perma-Grit Hand Tools, over the last
seventeen years have gained a reputation for manufacturing the best abrasive model- ing tools available. They have been de- signed by three times world champion Ian Richardson and are used by aero-model par- ticipants around the world. Whether you’re building from scratch or a kit, our tools are perfect for wings, fuselages, cockpit detail and figures.” I would search the shelves of your local hob-
by stores first and check out area suppliers, but you can reach the company for a direct purchase by going to: Perma-Grit Tools (Aust) Pty Ltd. B11, Scoresby Industry Park Janine St, Scoresby, VIC 3179. ABN: 73 300 624 956, Tel: (03) 9763 5846, Fax: (03) 9764 0890 or hit the computer at:
www.permagrit.com.au. My set of tools is now listed at 49.16 British Ster- ling Pounds. They are well worth the effort to have them in your possession.

The artwork of Al Rabe is depicted in this very sharp shot of Al’s two MustangStunters. Snaggletooth sits in the background while his newer blue Mustangsets the point in the foreground.
Al Rabe disks The US and world will not forget the
skilled accomplishments of Al Rabe and his fleet of semi-scale Stunt models. Even his Mustunt I, II, and III models, which were built and tested for proof of fundamental
ideas so to contribute to the later models, were excellent planes and worthy of practice and contest time. Any of his Mustangs, Bearcats, Sea Furys are wonderful flyers and do take an intense amount of skill and time to build. Al’s disk is a very complete presentation
of his life, his models, his philosophy, and displays his models to their spotlight best. Al’s Models, disks 1 and 2, have been com- bined into a single Al’s Models disk 3 which is 153,000 words, includes 1325 pages of text and photos. The price for this single disk is $19.95 and that includes shipping and handling. Contact him for a copy of the disk at: Al Rabe, 4200 Las Brisas Drive, Irving, TX 75038 or e-mail him at
Alsf8f@yahoo.com. This is a “must” set to have, view, and memorize. There will be a test on the information in our next class session!

“hail” all builders/flyers and to be aware of the kits which Pat is making available to the modeling public. “All my kits are laser cut. Eric Rule at RSM Distribution cuts all my kits. Eric kits one of my designs, the L.A. Warmth. My first kit was the Micro Ring- master for Cox TD .010 engines. The air- plane is a sheet wing ¼ scale Ringmaster. That was followed by the Micro Ringmaster Bipe, again for Cox TD .010. The Micro Ringmaster Bipe is a ½ scale Beginners Ringmaster Bipe. I now have over 30 C/L kits available. I refer to some of the kits as “Time Machines”.
