Gayana highlights Marine Awareness Month

Gayana Eco Resort will indulge all your senses.

Located on a coral reef island off the coast of Borneo, its overwater villas are designed to enhance the sounds of the surf below; the villas are positioned to capture the incredible views of Mount Kinabalu on the horizon.

At its heart, the resort is about protecting our precious marine ecology. Gayana is the only property in the world with an on-site Marine Ecology Research Centre encouraging guests to take part in programmes that include propagating endangered giant clams and restoring natural coral reefs.

The resort is running a Marine Awareness Month, 22nd March-22nd April 2012, to highlight the importance of the giant clam and celebrating the re-introduction of baby clams into the wild. The programme will also help coral reef regeneration to create a safe and natural habitat not only for the clams but for the wider native marine life.
